Using defrosted sausage meat to make sausage rolls
Asked on 9 Dec 2018 by hdale
Hi, I’ve some frozen sausage meat that I would like to use for sausage rolls. Is it safe to thaw, cook the sausage rolls then freeze them until I need them?
Thanks,
Helena

Hello Helena,
Yes if you use raw defrosted sausage meat to make your sausage rolls and then bake them you can cool and freeze them. I would recommend freezing them on the day they are baked and keep them well-wrapped for up to 3 months.
Now on a nationwide tour until November 2024, Awful Auntie is visiting over 25 venues nationwide and three lucky members have the chance of winning four tickets each to see this production in our competition with the Birmingham Stage Company.
